We understand that a church isn't the building or its location, it's the people. Our staff are likely to be the first faces that you see and those that you connect with in serving the community for Jesus. We thought it might be nice to give you a head start to knowing who they are!
Pastor Zach McNees is originally from Battle Creek, MI and has served in many capacities of ministry over the past 12 years. He and wife Sarah McNees met in high school while attending Wesley Woods Camp and reconnected serving together in youth ministry. Zach's ministry background has been in youth and college ministry at United Methodist Churches in Mt Pleasant and Allendale.
Zach has a heart for hearing the stories of all he serves and works alongside, knowing that our stories help to make up who we really are in our most authentic selves. He also has a heart for helping people find and use their gifts for ministry, even gifts they have yet to realize. He was appointed to serve at Northlawn on July 1, 2019. You can email Pastor Zach here.
Jennifer has a heart for serving others. She does this through organization (when others are lacking), through compassion (she's the first person you see when you walk in), and through empathy (as a mother of four, she's seen it all).
She is married to Nate and together they have four children across the state of Michigan. You can email Jennifer here.
Jan and Bonnie are a dynamic duo that help to prepare, plan, and lead Northlawn in worship through creative use of song, scripture, and other gifts.
Jan's desire to point people to the heart of worship in Jesus is what drives her.
Bonnie is extremely gifted on the piano and helps all people, regardless of musical ability, to connect in worship.
Jenna is Northlawn's Worship Arts Intern for Winter/Spring 2020. She is finishing her final semester at nearby Grace Christian University where she is studying Worship Arts. Originally from Battle Creek, MI, Jenna has a heart for leading people in worship on a variety of instruments: piano, guitar, ukulele, voice, and probably the kazoo.
Jessica grew up at Northlawn UMC, and now finds herself serving as our Nursery Staff. She is using her gift of connecting with kids, helping our littles disciples to grow and develop, and will always greet you with a smile. When not at Northlawn, Jessica works as a Pediatric Dental Hygienist.
